1st Coat of Seeding

Do first seeding of grass at 10 g per sq.m. or desired alternative planting such as root slips. Tamp the surface again. Compact any loose soil.

Matting (Overlap+Finishing)

Cut the chosen mat/geotextile product into the required length for the project. The cut mats are unrolled from the top and laid along the slope (in the direction of the water flow). Make sure not to overstretch the mats. (**add overlap content here) Lay the coir fiber matting in rolls or grids in the direction of water flow. Adjoining nettings should overlap by 15 cm or be stitched together.

Anchoring

Once the mat has been laid out, it should be secured in the top trench by gauge eleven (11) “U” shaped metal staples. Wooden stakes can serve the same purpose. They are usually pegged at a gap of 36 inches (one meter). (**add the trenching content here) Peg down the nettings using staples of 3mm steel wire or similar. Staples should be driven at intervals of 30-60cm, along sides and overlapping sections at c/c 15 cm.

2nd Coat of Seeding (if necessary)

Do first seeding of grass at 10 g per sq.m. or desired alternative planting such as root slips. Tamp the surface again. Compact any loose soil.
